Deciding where to be photographed is the first thing to have in mind when making your appointment to help us decide what time of day will get the best light there. Does your personality scream downtown Grand Rapids? Or whimsical Lake Michigan? Grunge or dress up? I recommend a mix, because this is about you! You want to dress like you do everyday, but you want a dressed up version of you as well that will be more timeless! I will help you with locations to match your clothing!
Here are some common questions and answers!
Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
Checks, Cash, Visa, Discover, and Mastercard
Q: How much time will the session take?
It depends... Senior Portrait session will usually take from 55 minutes for one outfit to 3 hours for the HUGE 10 x 15 proofbook portfolio with 3 outfits, 3 locations! Yes, even the guys like this option!
Q: How many pictures do you take to get to the good stuff?
As many as it takes! Sometimes we take 40, sometimes we take 100 of just one outfit! We are not worried about time. We are working on making you look GOOD!
Q: Can you retouch blemishes and scars? How about braces?
We promise retouching on at least 5 images in the proofbook, just to give you an idea of the quality! But ALL final images in your package that you hand out and put in your yearbook receive super high quality control retouching that is 100% to your satisfaction.
Q: How much are packages?
They start at $179 and include a yearbook print, or we will e-mail it to your school! We let you decide how many wallets, vs. 5 x 7's, vs. 8 x 10's you want in your package. You get to build your own package and there is discounts of course, the more you buy! There is also a special on wallets for $49 per 24 wallets!
Q: When do I get to view the pictures and how?
Immediately! Right after taking the images we get to sit down together and check out the results, first hand. We weed out the ones you do not like and usually narrow the picks to 50 of the best. It than takes 2 weeks to edit and design your VERY custom, REALLY AWESOME 10 x 15 proofbook, or about a week to have them put online. They are copyright protected and may not be reproduced without permission. We just started offering a DVD as a viewing option also!
Q: What should I wear?
Basic solid bright colors and layers that are fun are awesome! Don't forget shoes to match, jewelry, purses, and hats! Choose clothes that fit well, as opposed to too tight, or too baggy. If you are a sports enthusiast, bring your gear, you would not believe how much fun we can have! But clean the mud off first, right? If you are a fashion model, bring heels, bring white, bring black, bring something super trendy and something classic! If you are a guy, plan a polo shirt (without stripes preferred), a white t-shirt and a button down long sleeved shirt, and either a suit and tie that pops, or something from Abercrombie, Banana Republic, or the Buckle! Don't forget a great belt, and shoes!
Q: How should I wear my make-up?
Mascara is a must. Well applied, but not clumpy for close ups! Lip gloss is an absolute. Eye shadow is beautiful, eye liner is great. I know the natural look is really in, and I work with it all the time, but I notice that the images people really linger to look at are wearing make-up! If you would like to have 2 hair styles, let me know ahead of time so I can plan a split session!
